June 2019 Newsletter

Dear LEHA,

2019 4th of July CelebrationHappy Summer! Our Annual Lincoln Estates Homeowners’ Meeting was held at the pool on Wednesday, June 19th. If you were not able to attend, here the highlights:

  • The 2020 Budget was presented by Jeff Koester and approved. We continue to have a reserve that is earmarked for repairs and future improvements. The dues will be raised by $30 starting next year (billed this September) to cover the increase cost of maintenance, insurance, utilities, and labor.
  • The pool is looking great! We have hired a new pool service, that specializes in commercial pools. We also increased the frequency of their maintenance from once a week, to three times a week during the summer and twice a week off-season. This will help to not only keep chemicals balanced, but hopefully help decrease the wear and tear on the pumps and filters due to the needles, as well as prolong the finish on the pool.
  • There have been a few homeowners taking advantage of the adult swim, however, a change of time was requested. As of July 1st, Adult Swim will be Monday-Thursday from 7:00-8:00 pm. During that time, if someone 18 or over requests the pool, those under 18 will need to leave, to allow any adults to exercise. If Adult Swim isn’t requested, normal pool use will continue.
  • Please make sure that you have reviewed the pool rules with everyone in your household. We have had some issues this year with patrons engaging in rough play, either throwing objects (ex. Waterpolo or footballs) at others, dunking others, or running inside the gated area. These are absolutely not allowed due to risk of injury. Only pool appropriate balls, used in the appropriate manner are allowed. Remember, the lifeguards are there to make sure that patrons are swimming safely and provide rescue if needed, they are not babysitters or day care providers. They need to be able to focus on the pool area. If patrons wish to play games involving tag, or heavy balls, please do so outside the gated area.
  • Due to the increase in pool usage, it is very important that you reserve the pool/park area if you are having a gathering. If you are interested in using the park/pool for a party, contact Lisa Vizzusi at 576-7876. She will let you know if they date you are interested in is available, and schedule an additional guard, if necessary (for groups of 10+), for a fee of $15/hour. Please remember that our insurance does not cover events for organized groups. If you are planning to have an event for a team, group, school, church group, or organization, that group must first add Lincoln Estates Homeowners Association to a rider on their insurance policy, which needs to be given to us prior to the event. There are absolutely no bounce houses, blow up obstacle courses etc. allowed at any time.

Mark your calendars for our annual 4th of July Celebration! It is being coordinated again by Clay and Cindy Smith. Check the back of this newsletter for the flier! Help is needed!

LEHA board elections will be taking place in the fall. If you are interested in running for, or nominating someone for a board position, please place a letter in the mailbox at the park by July 1, 2019.

Sincerely,
Your LEHA Board
